Avisekh basu
Shall we call it "sabda kalpa droom" ? I don't
know, but this is a very unique experience. Just listen.
Abhisekh Basu was a disciple of Tabla exponent Bikram Ghosh. He has
also drawn inspiration from masters like Ustad Zakir Hussain,
Shivamani and Trilok Gurtu.Abhishek being a classical tabla player,
the obvious influence of varieties of rhythm and classical music
streams into his composition. His main objective is to produce rich
rhythm oriented composition with Indian classical music infused into
western music and to introduce the greatness of Indian classical
Raagas through mixed music, which will be easier for the new
generation to understand and accept. This piece "Foreign 2
Foreigners", is an attempt at presenting a song on a long forgotten
language. Also Abhishek is using an important Japanese instrument
called Handsonic , in his compositions. Handsonic has got over 1500
sounds and it adds a special taste to Abhishek's compositions
